Happy Birthday Rahul!

And i am back. Yes, yet again with a birthday wish!
*******************************************

Here is wishing one the nearest and dearest mates i have had. Rahul has been a dear friend since school days.
Years have passed and he seems to have changed ....wait for it..'not wee bit'.

Prankster, big time prankster. I remember the last bench fiasco of every other day in the school. Even today, i recall the 'team-baato' meetings on those 1/8 th of a sheet of paper from someone's notebook.

"Mandi teri mein, rana meri mein, akhil teri mein, raman meri mein!" :P :D
Oh those days!  :D

Everyday of the college has been a memory worth cherishing for me and Rahul happens to be one of the few contributors in this direction. I feel grateful to have met awesome as ever friends and Rahul finds a special mention! :D

The pranks, if published would apparently beat the list in the Yellow-pages. I still have that video of the street-music being played and you swaying your arms around an asleep fellow on our trip to Corbett! Haha!
Everytime i watch that, i simply roflmao!

Wish you a very happy birthday bhai!
Have a great day and far more awesome time ahead.
God bless!

All that i could manage!

Happy Birthday Asmita!

Welcome back to me! :p
Writing ways over this space have taken a new shape altogether. The one of birthday wishes. :p
Well, looking at the 'home' page you would agree.
But then, how many avid readers do i have? XD
Anyway,

**********************************************

Here is a brief yet idiotic account of the journey trudged with you over the past few years. Another 'upgraded' student like me, another live-the-moment child like me, oh yeah! :p
I am able to recall the days you would say this:

You may go ahead and totally blame the person 'right there' though. I do see the point at times, smile and think, "Kya time hota tha lab ke baahar wala..yaar..!" :p

A friend, batch P4 could always count on for practical files and a few mates for the ever-so-enjoyable company. Thanks for being around! Oh, and company reminds me of the mischievously obnoxious pranks by 'the gang'. This would ring a bell:

VG \m/

The lectures, the trip to the wild, the exams and the what not wouldn't have been the same without your presence! Thanks for being around friend!

Keep smiling!

Wishing you a very happy birthday and a lots of success ahead!
Have one 'Majja Ni Aawi Gayo Ni' sort of a day. (I wonder if i've framed it right!).
God bless!

Gifts Galore: My Birthday 2013

I am going to be grateful to have come across awesome people in life not because they bring you gifts (lol). But it is their concern, love and support since day one that leaves me spell bound.
Couple of days back, i celebrated my xth (don't find x) birthday with a few of my pals. I was moved by the presents and more than that by the heart that they all had put into them.
Here they are in pictures:

The sparkling keyring with my name's initials by Chetan.

The baniya stuff Mohit pokes me with on the envelope cover.  Huh!

Well, that isn't like me man, monetarily! :p

The awesome poster by Prateek. Encompassed everything i've been upto lately. :D

A beautiful verse by Prateek (back of the card)

And a brilliant sketch of ours by Prateek. Loved this !

Thank you again guys ! :D
Means a lot.

The Two Unputdownables

Hi folks,

Somewhere on this blog, i might have mentioned about myself that I have lately been an avid reader; avid thriller fiction reader to be specific. Over the past three months, it has been a sort of an overdose of death mysteries, plots revolving around revenge and what not.
Anyway, this prompted me to choose two of the countless works in the genre that appeal to me the most. The ones which i found hard to part with even for a moment. Yes, the unputdownable two.

1. The Other Side Of Midnight (Sidney Sheldon)

I read this book almost an year back having tasted a lot of Dan Brown in those days. This beautiful story is based in the French capital of Paris, Washington City and partly in Greece. It revolves around an American girl who ends up bewildered and horror-engulfed, a mere toy amidst the flames of revenge. The character is Catherine Douglas; entangled amidst four lives. Her spouse who was seeing a movie celebrity and a legendary Greek rich lady, further webs up the plot well. This makes them all do things which had not been foreseen at all. Read on to find out !

PS: It is one of the only four Sidney Sheldon books which i've read. So, maybe there are better names which could replace it from the two i am mentioning here.

2. The Godfather (Mario Puzo)

About three decades back, one literal classic was introduced to the world. A great piece that dwells in the Mafia underworld, The Godfather. It brought to light, though fictional, but the most talked of crime family, The Corleones, entirely drenched in sins. The story deals with a legacy in family, the one of blood-trade in revenge rather shedding in vengeance or pride; all passed as a lineage from a father to his son.

It has a strong theme imbibed where lust to the throne and being reputed amongst the community folks, the consequences when greed takes over you and family allegiances were noted; it surely is a bestseller, it had to be.
A brilliant movie captures the book as well. In case you aren't much into reading, you may live the essence on the screen as well.

These two books are impossible to put down until you've read the last page. But, again i'd add here that i am yet to read a LOT of other great literary works out there. This list is subject to additions, forever ! :D

Peace.

Do suggest me any other classics that you've read. It would be great to hear from you !

Was He really there ?

This morning, while turning the pages of the newspaper, i came across a huge govt. advertisement a.k.a announcement that spanned across the entire page; so much for an announcement, you see. The headlines said, "Let us all pray to the almighty for his blessings on our efforts to rebuild Uttarakhand". I can't say about the masses but i found this jocular. 'Let's pray to almighty', okay, so about three months back what were thousands of pilgrims doing at the shrine. I guess not adventure sports.
The advertisement came to me with something very much expected and something astonishing (to me at least).
I'd speak of the astounding one first. The unshakable faith in God had been shaken the day i heard of this calamity. Thousands had been engulfed by the sea of surplus water tormenting courtesy human intervention with the weakened Himalayas. My entire family has been mourning the loss of an elder cousin of mine who owned a small family motel halfway the shrine.
Well, this solely isn't the reason of my anger and shaken faith in Him. It is about the devotees and their endless ocean of blind faith in Him.

The clipping i found moving. I delibeartely cropped the politicians' faces out of the pic, you know why !

Maybe Science was right. Maybe the Illuminatis were always speaking of what practically is to be absorbed, facts. Because the otherwise which has happened doesn't get justified. It has been aptly put that one actually evaluates and then tries to seek means to vent the blame; this time on God. But why only the most beloved ones then?
Ever since then, with a bit shallow heart, the prayers do resound inside me but with questions in abundance. Does He really exists? Nobody has ever correctly answered this. Let me do this today. Yes, he does but ONLY in you. The more human you are, the more altruism you follow, the better person you end up being. In other words, the closer you get to Him. Now, 'Him' here sounds like a motive to propel charity work and humanity. Well, it is ! Do good; life is all about it.
The second aspect which i expected in the news was the usual shameless smiling 3x4 inches dimensions bearing pictures of politicians in power. (seeking votes). Sympathy has been expressed and financial aid has been assured (mind it even after 90 days all that families have is assurance).
I feel disgusted to see such people in command of the nation. Come 2014 and we would bring a change, a change for the better.
Amen !

Birthdays Galore

July has been a month of Birthdays, a whole lot of them. I had resolved to revive this long forgotten hobby of mine. Guess what, the opportunity was there. This much is nothing for the seriously awesome mates i've had. A token of our friendship with colors of life prancing all around.
God bless you all ! :)

This is what i've been upto lately !

Farewell Crashing: Do's and Don'ts

Let's keep aside the attending part of the entire ceremony at an auditorium or an amphitheatre. What i, rather my partners in crime find more appealing is the planning about
landing ourselves the free lunch on offer. This often doesn't demand planning but then there are
those circumstances compelling you to fight it out for the bread. I know it sounds quite भुक्कड़ !
Anyway, here is what i've gathered this week from the first ever 'bunch' of experiences of
farewell crashing (having gulped everything  at almost every 2013 batch's farewell party).

What we live for ! :p

 Do's:

  •  Start early if there is a hint of resistance in the air.
  •  Pass it on. Sharing is caring. You'd want everybody in the family to ease their bellies out.
  • Poking your friends from the batch which is 'free-to-eat' works with resistance.

Nervous Nineties Called It A Day (Internal Exams Special)

यार तुझसे जब पूछो चलने को कहीं, तो तेरे exams चल रहे होते हैं | सच तो यह है की तू आना ही नहीं चाहता |

This one statement has resounded for like a zillion times in the past four years. And then there is a friend of mine who reminded the count stands at 90. Jaw dropping, echoing till eternity, minus all the external hassles, smiling in total amazement, the epic nine-zero-- NINETY.

Having taken my last internal today along with everyone who has been alongside the wagon throughout, i was trying to recall the day sessional/internal exams were a mystery about to get unfolded. Trying to read as much as  a human being possibly can, cramming the hell out of alphabets in black (It was Mathematics but hell yeah, i was cramming :p). काला अक्षर बीज बराबर |

It used be a 1 hour 30 min long affair back in the days when everything used to plead for mercy, dying to be vomitted on the sheets of paper in blue. The things have taken a new shape today though. Anyway, the breathtakingly awesome thing about the question papers that we are made to tackle is everything seems out of syllabus. You feel like checking the subject title, rub your eyes, snatch your benchmate's question paper to check his or her paper title and sit there in utter shock.
Apologies to folks who have appeared in these images without their permission.

Why Ekta Kapoor Should Call It Quits !

Come again ?

I just got bored, no, highly irritated actually by the annoying soaps all over the T.V. which my family folks are  quite a fan of. I just feel like making the so pronounced queen of daily soaps, Ekta Kapoor to retire by firing her myself forever if only i could. Why? Here's more than why:

  • All her soaps speak of the same Saas-Bahu story. The Saas (Mother-in-law) is all guns blazing at her newly entitled Bahu (Daughter-in-law) for a myriad of reasons which vary from an inferior quality laddoos as dowry to not touching Baa's feet. (the eldest lady of the house living ever since dinosaurs departed)

Happy Birthday Mohit !

And i am back with another, yes third of the week birthday-wish post here. Would cook around the other kind of stuff here soon too. Here it goes:

Hey there काणे,

Wishing you all the merrier this day.
Have a great day. Party even harder.
Party से याद आया, 7 सेमेस्टर बीत गए पर आज तक टॉपर से एक पार्टी  नहीं नसीब हुई| :/
इतनी कंजूसी ठीक नहीं भाई! :p

I recall the days we used to 'TRY' and work against our will in the labs to design a filter. (Forget what the complete project was meant to be) Regarding the same, the entire second floor would go nuts as the clock would strike 5 and we two would still be lingering around asking for components. Fun days, indeed.  XD XD

Those were the days when *some text missing*

The days we'd pay our mentor a visit every second day or so having done very little and always seeking something to explain to her (on A-4 sheets that is). Exaggeration at its best !  :D  :p

The ever so helping guy in you is something people are grateful for, including me. बस तुझे exam से एक दिन पहले कॉल करना एक बहुत बड़ी गलती है ! अच्छे खासे बन्दे को डिप्रेशन हो जाए | :p  :p
You know the reason why. XD

RIP the oppressed body.

Oh, i forgot to offer condolences for the sad demise of your phone. I saw this image in the paper and couldn't resist but cry. You should have gone a bit easy over it. See what you've done. :/

Anyway, congratulations for the new one. Glad, this one doesn't bear any keys ! :p :p

Wouldn't bore you any further. Party कब और कहाँ है, ये जल्द बताएँ ! :/
(Birthday की नहीं बाकी सारी|)

God bless !

Peace.

Happy Birthday Swati !

Yo !
Hello there.
Today is the birthday of yet another friend of mine from college (yeah our clan is kinda big and hence justifies the frequency) and without any ramblings to go along i'd get down to business.

A very Happy Birthday Swati !
This is the least i could do today.(यार, शनिवार को पड़ गया तेरा जन्मदिन XD)
Anyway, देखो, any game at the Badminton court that doesn't involve me is going to be of 10 points at any other day except today. You don't have to point that to me with the shuttle mid-air. :p
I and Nimit could have posted a head-boggling video of 'our kinda songs', but then somehow we refrained.
I know that's some respite to you.

Umm..here's your gift btw. Hope you like it. I just finished a bowl like this though. :p :p

Bharta-e-bengan

Chalo, no further 'pakaana' here. Have a great great time with mates at the hostel.

A very happy birthday again. God bless ! \m/

Peace.

Happy Birthday Jaskaran !

Haven't written anything lately as a lot of sports has kept me engrossed. But, this day, was F.U.N. after a long long time as it was the birthday of a dear friend. I am not sure whether jumping into a pool of adjectives to find the appropriate ones for this guy would ever end if taken up.
Here, have a look at what i could manage to wish my mate, Jaskaran. I know, kind of amateur stuff this might appear when you start scrutinizing with the eyes of an artist, but don't do that here, please. Instead, admire the heart i've put into it (aayee fimy xD).

Significance: Jaskaran, dude well you, me and everyone knows the reason for having it painted in the shape of a bag. Won't talk about it here. Open to guesses for the rest.  :D

The front

The back

The inside

Honestly, you've been one hell of a perfectionist at things. Even minute 'unnees-bees' is just not acceptable to you. That is why the B-I-U stuff there was put. And stop framing 'she who shouldn't be named' for this. Your dedication towards the club has always been commendable. It has made us learn volumes too. Err..the club not you (lol). You certainly have 'the thing' for it and would be doing great in the time to come, i bet on that. Stay like this. \m/
Wishing you a very Happy Birthday again. God Bless. :D :)

Peace !

Love is in the air, 22.7 ppm across India: Statistics

New Delhi: Reports have crept in that the levels of a weirdly obnoxious effluent called Love have soared to levels beyond the optimum threshold. The Department of Rashtriya Swayam Karunga Sewa Sangha (RSKSS) and the Thackerays Disciplinary Committee responded in affirmative. As per Mr Sabkedarshan (Chief of RSKSS) this effluent would not only prove fatal to the youth but is bound to engulf the older folks too. Around 14th of February, its levels would reach the peak value and we might have to shift to a new scale, maybe ppb (parts per billion) going by the Indian population statistics. Mr. Thackeray was firm in resolve to keep his state of Maharashtra in complete control as far as this issue is concerned. He has ordered a truckload of bamboo sticks which he believes would shoo away the problem at hand, which obviously is clearing the air. (With the sticks that is!)

The other group, the youth of India believes in somewhat different tale altogether. Reportedly, a college student from Bhopal was heard adding," I would want Love to spread. Gandhi ji too wanted the same. Am i not allowed to obey the father of the nation or what ?"

The Levels, now a caouse of serious concern
A group of engineering college students from Ranchi were interviewed for their opinion. But the things they said can't be put up here for safeguarding the social aspect of this post. But they did broke one camera of ours and took 10 meters long cable for their project (as heard).
Having reported the towering problem, the government has already installed sensors based equipments in public parks, metro stations, public libraries, markets, malls and at places where footfall is expected to be low. A comparative study is to be done with the levels of effluents recorded during previous years of this study.

Our reporter interviewed a handful of singles at the C.P. market in the heart of Delhi. Here is what she gathered:

Guy1:  I'd better remain online throughout the day and change my Facebook name to 'Available'.
Guy2:  I'd watch Pyar Ka Punchnama on loop till my eyes pop out.
Girl1:   *Chilli spray in our reporter's eye when the latter couldn't start speaking*
Guy3:  I'd tease couples around by screaming "Bhaago Police, bhaago !".  I'd dine outside too.

The alarming levels have a different story to tell when heard from different mouths, rather hearts.
Wishing all out there 'infected' (for the good :P) A Happy Valentine's Day !Have a great time. Beware of what is there to monitor the levels. :p

And my clan of singles, pick anything from the list. Invite others from the hood. Roll ! Do share if you've got something better to do around among effluents as comments.

Peace !

What i've been upto lately !

Yeah, this.
P.S.: Pardon my bad sketching and even worse colouring. :p
You know, it's been kind of fun-filled hangover.

Peace !

Dawn at Pathali (Uttarakhand)

Hi,
I managed to get some pictures to put up here of the priceless winter dawn in my village-place Pathali (Uttarakhand). The ambience can only be lived and felt. But these pictures, i find them so refreshing after not having paid a visit for the past three years (courtesy studies). Anyway, not speaking much, why don't you take a look around yourself.

The 'Gadra'(Regional language term for a smaller river
trickling down the mountains)

Tunganath Valley far ahead (View from our Pathali residence)

View of Kedarnath valley (Mandakini River valley) with
Nanda Devi snow-laden peak in the backdrop

Pathali Dhar getting the first ray of the morning.
The top of the mountain hosts a popular tourist spot,

a beautiful lake- Devariyataal.

I used to call this glitter in white Ice-cream
as per my uncles. Vanilla....seems so.

The ODI Student

Although, i believe that it is not normal to talk about exams once you are done with them but then there is one entirely different aspect of 'FUN' attached to it. The turmoil, both psychologically and physically one day before an exam can not be expressed here in words, but i would try and give it a shot.

Img By: jaefinite(flickr)
When you gape at the pile of books on your table, the first thing that pops in your head is 'Seriously ? One day ?'. The endless hours one's professors devote in the lecture hall appear quite legitimate going by the books-count at hand, or rather the page-count (after having cropped hundreds beforehand after being termed out of syllabus). One is able to recall the semester days, picturing himself saying it over and over, "यार ब्रेक हो गया है, और कितना पकाएगा ?", then, right in front, lies the answer smiling wide, as if mocking at his turn like a cat, a cat running with the ticks of the wall-clock.

The moment you wake up on the D-day, a series of pledges ring through your mind. I'd anyhow do half the syllabus by lunch and the remaining till dinner. Ultimately, these pledges fade just like your new year resolutions, or even earlier. The first sign in the same direction being the shift in your decided time thresholds. Wooooo.., they rattle manifolds, from lunch to maybe brunch or even dinner at times (e.g. Ind-Pak are locking horns after years in Cricket).

With the sun setting in, it makes you wish, believe instead that the exam is most certainly going to be postponed, by a couple of days at least. 'Brain-buying-its-bread' in those busy hours of duel with time.

Dawn and dusk, for that exam-fortnight seem one to every ODI student. Dinner, you don't want to have it. Your favorite daily-soap, it starts appearing rubbish, your blanket is your mate, your book is your most cherished possession on the day.
Your 'back' tries hard to stand by your side to ensure you cram enough matter so that you avoid a 'back' (supplementary in a subject as they call it) the next day.

The only good thing about this head-numbing toil is that it makes one realize the true worth of time. "समय बहुत बलवान है !", goes a proverb in Hindi. I can't comment about the situation with the Test-match students, who devote time to cramming on a regular basis because i have never been one, honestly.

This one day 'fun' is thrilling, although everyone would certainly want to avoid it (the likes of mine) but end up following a hectic page-shuffling morning and index-gaping night.

The one peculiar attachment i have failed to understand is ours with our cell-phones. I am dead sure that everybody's mom or dad would be pointing this addiction to you at one point or the other. But it's hard to let go, isn't it ? May be they introduce some rehabilitation program soon in the future. :p

Anyway, the thrill, the tension as some might find it (I too at rare times) is something one is bound to find in the present Indian education system. Stringent approach redefined goes the general picture across the country. The picture is all the same, major part being theoretical. But more on that later.

Peace
P.S.: I am at peace since the ODIs are over now. If you know what i mean ;)
